Three ladies pose in the western courtyard during the renovation of 1929, 1929 Canvas Print
Redevelopment of the western courtyard in April 1929 (dated back in photo?), seen to the northwest, can be seen on the left the west wall with sculpture by Bart van Hove and on the right the north wall. Also on display is the curved light hood that rests on iron trusses on consoles This glass roof was applied in 1893. Until 1927 there was a wooden floor in the western courtyard that was replaced in that year by a concrete floor on two levels (a floor on a low basement and a floor on the ground floor). In this photo, the redesign of the courtyard is in full swing, by means of half-stone walls three rooms are now being arranged here and a low ring wall is placed for the original facades. The latter has not yet been posted here. In 1929 - the year in which this photo was taken - around 1 May the concrete floor was completed, the new basement space could be put into use shortly afterwards, On the ground floor the original facades were painted white and the courtyard was arranged for temporary exhibition (Rijksmuseum voor beeldhouwkunst en kunstnijverheid) by the construction of three rooms, in the middle an architectural fragment (arch) has already been placed.
