Twelve people in traditional costumes of different cities, on the street in front of a city inn, ca. 1820-1830. According to the inscriptions under the title, these are women from the towns of Zaandam and Hindeloopen, a woman from the well-to-do bourgeoisie and other persons with the professions of speaker, wine seller, maid and milkmaid.
