Virgin and Child, anonymous, c. 1270 - c. 1280 Canvas Print
Mary stands with the right leg slightly forward with the foot outwards and the left leg briefly bent; she recedes with her upper body and head diagonally backwards, thereby distancing herself from the child sitting on her left arm, on which her gaze is located. The child has raised one leg, holds a fruit in the left hand and in the other Mary's veil, which depends in a point on her back. Mary is dressed in a round neck-necked robe, which falls down to the rectangular plinth, but leaves the shoe tips free. From the shoulder hangs the spacious cloak, which is struck to the left and is inserted there under the right elbow. The child wears a tunic, under which the feet emerge.
