Wedding dress with standing collar, Hirsch, 1915 Canvas Print
Wedding gown of silk crepe de chine, consisting of a body with v-neck and cover filled with a silk voile trimmed with bobbin lace on a running skirt with drag. Model: the body closes at the front with a transfer from the right over left and metal snaps. The body is provided with an inner body of pongé silk, which closes with metal snags. On the right front part of the inner body, a plastron of mesh-like cotton (tulle) covered with lace is sewn. On the inner body, a silk voile is attached to the side seams and the waist seam on which the tulle, which crosswise closes on both sides. This extra voile is missing on the back of the lower body. The straight sleeves, which close tightly around the forearm and have wide back-beaten machets, are placed on the inner body. This makes the tors body look like a kind of sleeveless bolero. The cuffs are closed on the inside of the forearm with four sacrificed, convex buttons. The front parts are wrinkled at the shoulder seam. The hem of the body is fixed to the lower body with flat pleats and these provide a blouse-tinging effect. The whole is finished with a strap in linen binding. The back part is lined with the aforementioned silk voile. A rectangular lap is placed on the back part, lined with voile and on both sides with eight upholstered buttons with a metal core. The two front parts of the skirt close with one (ornamental?) seam in the middle front over each other. On either side, a small geer is placed in the side seam. The skirt has a wide hem. The back part is lined with an extra woolen topping between fabric and lining in the drag. The hem is weighted all around with a lead belt consisting of small discs. Decoration: the body is trimmed in the v-neck with a wrinkled strip of linen bobbin lace (décor of rosettes and leaves), which is also applied to the inside of the cuffs. In the cuffs, the lace is supported by a double layer of tulle. Around the wrist is a folded strap tulle that ends in a flat bow. Below three narrow strenuous in the silk fabric. The cuffs are relatively long and end on the back of the hand. The inner body is trimmed with a Valenciennes strip. Under the drag there is an additional edge of pleated silk. On the back, in the acts of being of the skirt, a loop has been strenned, which could possibly be used to hold up the skirt while walking.
