Allegorical representation made on the occasion of the marriage of Gijsbert Antwerpen Verbrugge van Freyhoff and Maria Hooft, married at Amsterdam on 1 December 1741. Garden with a bridal couple, accompanied by the river gods of the Meuse and the IJ. The man hands his bride a ring. On the grass are two putti with a sheet of paper on which the names of the newlyweds. On a cloud of Love (Caritas), with a laurel wreath to crown the newlyweds, and a putto with a portrait medallion and a coat of arms. On the right two putti that hang a coat of arms on which the intertwined initials of the newlyweds hang from a tree. In the background a temple, where a putto comes flying in to ignite a flame on the altar.
