De Hooiwagen: an allegory of secular and spiritual abuses. Central is a hay wagon managed by devils. The hay symbolizes the worldly possession. Around the car, people from all walks of life are trying to get their possession of hay. At the bottom left of death, to the left of the car is the pope with a cardinal, a bishop and a monk. Next door comes a procession of knights. On the right a procession in which a model of a church is worn, behind it crippling and beggars. Furthermore: murder and manslaughter, robberies etc.
