Apollo and Daphne, Robert van Audenaerd, 1685 - 1728 Canvas Print
Apollo, hit by one of Amor's arrows, chases the nymph Daphne. She calls her father for help and then turns them into a laurel tree. Out of her fingers, all the leaves are sprinkling. Two river gods and three nymphs look at the fleeing Daphne. Between the tree branches you can see Amor, the cause of evil. He holds a bundle of arrows in his hand.
