Armchair of tropical wood with loose, cane-covered seat window. The furniture rests on slung legs, connected by rungs that are made up of a flat section, a cable edge and a halved slung rail. The houses show leaf motifs in the recesses; the legs rest on knobs. The back has a lower and wide lintel, connected by slung colonettes. The curved armrests rest on slung struts. The sills, rungs, seating rules, square back posts and armrests are decorated with carved lotus tendrils and with rope edges. Dutch East Indies, second half of the 17th century.
