Arts present book to crowned woman, anonymous, 1698 Canvas Print
Four female personifications of the arts with a capital, a bust, a painter's palette and measuring instruments present a book to a woman with a crown and scepter on the right. Behind her sits a woman with a laurel wreath and cornucopia. In the background the triumphal arch on the Place de la Nation and the eastern façade of the Louvre in Paris, both designed by Claude Perrault. The print is a copy to the title page for Les dix livres d'architecture de Vitruve (1673) by Perrault.
