Bacchanal of Satyrs and Cupids, Gerard van Opstal (attributed to), c. 1650 Canvas Print
On an elongated ground with some stumps and rocks, the three-quarters satyr with the left elbow leaning against a dead goat, which lies against a tree stump, sits on the far right. He plays on a pan flute, which he holds with both hands. To the left of him sits the satyr female in a half-lying position and with legs beaten over. She holds a young satyr in the right arm, which she sucks and grabs with her left hand up towards the large bunch of grapes, which is held up to her by a young satyr approaching her. This leads a row of four hand in hand dancing Amors; he pulls the first of them by the hand, as he dives under the arch of the raised arms of the latter two, in turn attracting the second Amor behind him. The penultimate boy is seen on the back, the latter holding a tambourine in the raised free right hand. The satyr female has a cloak over her right shoulder, the satyr and the young satyr with grape bunch have the head covered with vines, as is the case with the leftmost standing Amor, who also carries a garland of vines over the shoulder.
