Basket, Reynier Brandt (attributed to), 1775 Canvas Print

The oval basket rests on four cast legs in the shape of a bird claw on a sphere. The flat bottom is encased in the lower edge, which, like the upper edge, is decorated with fasces. The vaulted wall is completely open with railings, decorated with rosettes and closed at the top and bottom by an edge of ovals connected by spheres. Railings and rosettes are engraved. The scalloped top edge bends downwards in the middle of each side; the fasces end there in acanthusvoluten. At the front and back there is a oval medallion hanging from a bow, the top decorated with hanging laurel garlands. At this point, a ring is attached to both sides, on which ribbon-bound laurel garlands are hung, which run over the entire wall. Above the legs they seemingly swing around the top edge and above the medallions they are incorporated. The cast decorations are imposed on the wall. The upper edge passes smoothly into the curved ears, made up of fasces, which end in acanthusvolutes in the middle, where they curl inwards. The medallions on the front and back are engraved with the coat of arms of the Beaumont family.
