Battle around the town of Heerewaarden in the Bommelerwaard, early June to July 4, 1599. Battle between the Spanish troops stationed at Rossum and the State Army under Maurits at Heerewaarden, Voorne, Varik and Lith. On the right a Spaniard and a State soldier with a dialogue in two verses of four lines in Dutch. The soldier shoots the Spaniard with a pistol in the shape of a fish, a reference to Voorne.
