In the background you can see the birth of John the Baptist on the right (Luke 1:57-58), while the Christmas story with the birth of Christ in a stable in Bethlehem takes place centrally in the background (Luke 2:6-14). On the left, Christ is circumcised in the temple (Luke 2:21).
