The bombardment of the city of Algiers by a united British and Dutch squadron under the command of Lord Exmouth and Baron van der Capelle, in the night of 26 to 27 August 1816. Under the plate a sheet with the names and signatures of a group of people who declare that the representation of the bombing is in accordance with the truth, done at the Remembrance Festival in Amsterdam on August 27, 1850. Among them on the same page are the names and signatures of five naval officers who were present at the bombing and the subsequent liberation of 1002 captured sailors and fishermen, including 28 Dutchmen, from Algiers. This second group took at the fiftieth anniversary of the bombing on August 27, 1866 in Amsterdam. Print and text pasted together on a larger sheet.
