Porcelain bowl with a spreading rim, painted in underglaze blue. On the outer wall five medallions with Kui Xing, the God of the Exams, with his attributes on a dragon's head between waves and clouds. Around the foot a band with rocks and waves with a three-legged frog on the rocks, which blows mushrooms upwards ending in a cloud with a flower branch. At the bottom a scholar in a fenced garden looking at a flower. The inner edge with prunus branches; the outer edge with a cloud motif. Marked on the underside with Emperor Chenghua's six-character mark in a double circle. Old label on the bottom with 'W174'. Blue White.
