Woman in heavy mourning. (portant le dueil suivant la première époque) . According to the accompanying text, she is wearing a black tafside gown and a skirt of the same fabric. Around the neck a wide fichu with ruffles of white 'gaze d'Italie' and cuffs 'en sabot' of the same gaze. On the head a "chapeau-bonnette" of white crepe with a black ribbon and four black feathers. The long hair is held together from behind with a bronze band. Accessory information: long gloves, black tafside shoes, handkerchief. The print is part of the 18th Cahier from Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, November 15, 1785 - November 1, 1786.
