Cadmus slays the dragon, Hendrick Goltzius (workshop of), 1728 Canvas Print

Cadmus wondered where their companions were after he asked them to fetch sacrificial water from a nearby forest. He went to look for the men dressed in a lion's skin poached and armed with a lance. At the well where they filled their urns, Cadmus finds the men dead. He kills the dragon that devoured them by sticking his lance in his throat. Below the performance two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
