Candle crown of three heights with six arms each, anonymous, c. 1675 - c. 1725 Canvas Print

The object consists of a wrought iron bar, an iron split pin and the following cast and on the lathe processed parts of yellow copper: the hanging ring, three stem parts, the sphere, the knob, three times six arms with the corresponding grease traps, candle holders and pins. The upper stem part decorated with grooved rings is largely pipe-shaped and has a thickening at the bottom. The pipe has two ribs interrupted by four notches each. These notches are unnoticed at the top or marked with one, two or three dots. The middle stem part decorated with grooved rings is spherical at the top and marked there (?), then turns into a torn and partially restored stand ring with openings for the six arms. They are indicated unnoticed or indicated by one to five dots struck. In the upper segment, the sphere is profiled in wide ribs. The button forged on the bar ends in a pear-shaped button at the almost flat bottom. The more or less octagonal top round bar has a gap for the split pin in the top end, with which the whole can be attached to the hanging ring. The arms of the three wreaths have an S-shape, and turn outwards into the flat attachment part for the holder with the grease trap. Towards the trunk they end in a stylized dolphin head and are decorated with curls. They are also equipped with a ridge to be fixed in the trunk with a pin. There, the arms are mostly marked with dots struck by up to five dots. The grease traps are ribbed at the bottom profiled around the opening and have two grooved rings each time. The cylindrical candle holders, which have a profiled protruding edge, two grooved rings and a thickening at the bottom, switch to a baluster with the thread at the bottom and a button, in which the center hole can be seen. With the three wreaths, the arms and grease traps are cast each time with the help of the same models. The candle holders of the upper wreaths are the same, those of the lower wreath are larger but of the same model. The original pins have on top of a baluster-shaped vase. They have been supplemented by other documents. The missing parts have also been replaced by others for the other parts, in particular the grease traps. A lot of parts have been repaired. The four (?) decorative pieces to be installed in the pipe-shaped upper trunk part are missing. The sphere is coarsely cast and has a only partially removed casting core on the inside.
