Conquest of Ostend on the French by the Allies after siege and bombardment, 6 July 1706. In the central representation the bombardment of the city, in a richly decorated ornamental frame with rocks with shells and seaweed. At the top a river god and river goddess and the eagle of Jupiter. At the bottom a cartouche with the description of the events in German, with two large fish on either side.
