A magician on a scaffold lifts a cup on the left, including a statue of Victoria in front of Ghent, under the cup on the right a donkey with enormously long ears. In the middle the opened Pandora's box from which bubbles rise. There was disagreement whether the Vereeniging St. Caecilia from Ghent or the Harmonie van Brussel had won the first prize at the music competition held in Lille.
