On the right, some Levellers offer a petition. On the left, a faithful dog protects the insignia of the English crown (Charles II) from another dog. At the top a small scene with Admiral Tromp making a bloodletting at Cromwell, a reference to Tromp's victory at the Battle of Dungeness. Under the plate on the sheet printed a caption in 3 columns. The composition goes back to the sixteenth-century prints of the Duke of Alva on his throne.
