Cartoon on the flight of Eugène, Prince of Ligne, 1834, anonymous, 1834 Canvas Print
Cartoon on Eugène François Charles Joseph Lamoral de Ligne, 8th Prince of Ligne, who, together with his wife Nathalie-Charlotte de Trazegnies, had to flee their burning house, 1834. Eugène de Ligne was an Orangist and drew the popular anger of the Belgians, looting and setting fire to his residence in Brussels. Their flight and the rescue of two dogs and three birds in cages from the house is frowned on with the flight from Aeneas with the Penaten from Troy.
