Roman cartoon on the Protestant Bible editions at Albrecht Hendriksen in Delft in 1579 and with J. Canin in Dordrecht in 1580, the so-called 'Deux-Aesbijbel' (the old Bible) and the State Translation of 1637 (the new Bible). The Flemish Farmer (= Aernout van Geluwe) pulls open a curtain on the left and unveils the Old Bible of Johannes Calvin, on the right he unveils the New Bible of the Newly Reformed Preacher. Correction copy with improvements made to the texts.
