Cartoon on the conquest of Dunkirk by the French army on the Spaniards in 1646 and the deplorable state of the province of Flanders exploited by Spain. The dairy cow Flanders is taken by the horns and led away by a Frenchman (French Cavalier) and a Dutchman (Staatse Ruiter). Under the cow are two Spaniards (Spanish Signoren) who drink themselves full of the udders of the cow. A Spanish Jesuit and a Flemish soldier are still trying to keep the cow.
