Chair of walnut, anonymous, 1845 Canvas Print

Chair of walnut, anonymous, 1845 Canvas Print

Chair made of walnut with a covering, which shows floral and leaf motifs in cross-stitch on a light green base. The angular, backwards curved hind legs pass into the curved back window; the curved forelimbs, at the bottom with spherical shapes, bear S-shaped profiles and at the top cartouches with leaf motifs. The curved side lines of the seat show profiles that end in the corners in small volutes. The curved pre-line wears a seed bead motif in the middle of S-shaped volutes. Paws on castors. The original upholstery was donated to the museum in 1972, while the chair remained in the possession of the owner; in 1977 the chair was emptied, after which the upholstery was applied in 1978, after restoration. See: BK-1972-183-a/b.
