Colonel Georges Picquart behind a desk, Pierre-Emile Cornillier, 1899 Canvas Print
This lithograph was made as a tribute to Colonel Georges Picquart, who, as head of the intelligence service of the French army, discovered that fraud had been committed in the Alfred Dreyfus case. As he continued his research, he was relieved of his duties in 1898 and sent to Tunis. Cornillier has depicted Picquart in prison, engrossed in a stack of books. He is supported by Prudentia and Justitia.
