Photo album donated to Paul and Lucie Sandel in Langkat on Sumatra on the occasion of their wedding in January 1900 by Paul's brother David Sandel. Band on front and back decorated with sheets of Cantonese lacquerwork with inlays. Obverse: inscription "Sumatra" and seven cartouches with Japanese motifs: nature scenes with birds and flowers, still life of objects and Indian types. Reverse with geese flying along moon and grassy necks. The album contains 25 sheets of heavy cardboard with gold on cut with 50 photos pasted on both sides. The album was a handwritten table of contents in German and a photo of Paul and Lucie Sandel.
