Bell-shaped lidded bowl of porcelain, with an annular knob, painted on the glaze in black and gold. On the wall of the bowl two richly decorated cartouches with curls, garlands, a crown, joined hands and two angels. In one cartouche the initials 'EL', in the other 'CS' with the date '1778' in both. Between the monograms two flower sprays; the inner edge with napkin work and tendrils with tassels. The lid with flower sprays and the edge with napkin work with tendrils. Two chips in the rim of the bowl; a chip and a crack in the edge of the lid. European performance in encre de Chine.
