Crowd in front of george humphrey's shop window in London, Theodore Lane, 1821 Canvas Print
A group of men and women stands in front of the shop window of George Humphrey, print dealer and publisher in London. The prints in the shop window are shown in detail. They form a series of cartoons in which Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel is attacked. In 1796 she had briefly been married to her nephew, later George IV of the United Kingdom. In the doorway behind the closed glass door are two men. One of them, possibly Humphrey himself, holds up a caricature print.
