Daniel goes against the conviction of Susanna, Willem Isaacsz. of Swanenburg, 1606 Canvas Print

Two elders appointed judges over the people harass Susanna, in the background, as she takes her bath. She's accused by them of adultery. On the left, the two lead her before a judge, who sits on the right of a throne, falsely accusing her of demanding that she be given the death penalty. Susanna looks up and prays to God that He knows what really happened and that they falsely accuse her. Young Daniel in the middle shouts loudly that he is not guilty of Susanna's blood. Daniel is then allowed to question the elders to uncover the false testimony of the two. Below the performance two four-line verses in Latin and a reference to the Bible text in Dan. 13.
