David en Natan, Johann Sadeler (I) (attributed to), 1646 Canvas Print
The Prophet Natan comes to King David and tells him a parable about a rich man who took the lamb from a poor man and slaughtered it. Natan points out the poor man and the dead lamb next to him. With this parable, Natan tells us that David acted like the rich man. David kneels and acknowledges that he sinned by committing adultery with Batseba and having her husband Uria killed. Below the performance a reference in Latin to the Bible text in 2 Sam. 12:1. This print is part of an album.
