Irregularly shaped, square stoneware bowl, covered with a red glaze[?] and painted in green, yellow and black. The obverse with a river landscape in relief with a scholar on horseback in the foreground, followed by two servants. In the background a group of scholars sitting on the shore. A boat in the water. The landscape with trees (pine tree, banana plant), mountains and rocks. The back with karakusa tendrils against a yellow background. Old label on the bottom with 'W727'. Kyoyaki in imitation of red paintwork.
