Print 11 in a series about the Batavian Revolt, copied after the series Batavorum Romanis bellum by Antonio Tempesta (Otto Vaenius, Antwerp 1612). Illustration for: Marquis de St. Simon, Histoire de la guerre des Bataves et des Romains, d'après César; Corneille Tacite, Aux dépens de Marc-Michel Rey, Amsterdam 1770. Performances printed in a large ornamental frame in which a cut-out title is pasted at the top and a caption in French at the bottom. In this series of copies, plates 11 and 12 are swapped in order compared to the original.
