Eastern main entrance with the Danish docks, 1903 - 1910 Canvas Print
The eastern main entrance. To the left and right of the entrance two bronze doggen by G. Gardet, ordered in Paris in 1903 to replace two plaster lions that have flanked the entrance since 1885. The door on the right gave access to the arts and crafts department. The corridor on the right led to the western courtyard. De Stuers describes the decoration of this hall. Originally, the bundles of columns were painted reddish-brown, the caps were bronze-colored with green profiled, the arches white with red and leaf ornament. The vaults were executed in clean masonry. The degree arches were white with bronze-green sheet ornament implemented. Here the vaults have remained clean masonry. However, all the paintings are hidden from view with the white brush.
