Entry and inauguration of King William II in Amsterdam 27-28 November 1840. Sheet printed on both sides and intended to fold like a letter. Front divided into five compartments with at the bottom the arrival of William II through the Willemspoort in Amsterdam on 27 November and ride through triumphal arches erected elsewhere in the city. At the top of the procession with the king on his way from the Palace to the Nieuwe Kerk for the inauguration on 28 November. In the middle the texts of the Act of Abdication and the proclamation of William II (with vignette and portraits) and centrally the 'Letter to myne Landgenooten'. On the reverse the inauguration between four columns of text. This magazine is accompanied by a second sheet with the continuation of the 'Letter' and that can be folded around the folded print as a cover.
