English officer's sabre for marines, model "stirrup hilt", from circa 1805 (British Commissioned Naval Officers Sword). Vested: Lion vest made of copper with ivory handle wrapped in copper wire. In the middle, a shield with a crowned weapon. Front bracket and half pareerstang with two shields with an engraved crowned anchor. The blade is double-edged. Distinguished in blue and gold. On front woman figure leaning on an anchor. Above that, the initials G.R. with a crown. On the reverse side Neptune with trident on a shell. Above that, weapon trophy with the royal weapon. Signed. On the handle was a medallion, possibly from the civilian service branch of the wearer.
