Chaos on the streets during the unsuccessful attempts to fill the hot air balloon of Abraham Hopman and Louis Samuel Loude with hot air, on the Overtoom in Amsterdam on July 5, 1804. On the right a dog cart with nails and vitriol. Hopman and Loude made attempts on July 5 and 6, 1804, to make a journey in a hot air balloon called 'Lust for Research'. Eventually, the hot air balloon was raised without passengers. See also the pendant.
