Fan box of lacquered wood lined with painted fabric and red paper (belonging to BK-1995-20-A). Model: elongated with hinged lid. Closure by means of hook and eye. Decoration: in the middle of the lid a scene with two figures, flanked on either side by a butterfly and flowers. On the front on the box two bunches of blades of grass. In the middle of the lid a multicolored butterfly amidst roses, on a blue base. In the box a recess for the fan lined with red paper. On the left side of the lid an oval adhesive label with the signature of Jin Zemao; probably the range painter. Canton, c. 1840-1860.
