Flint pistol with ivory tray, anonymous, 1655 - 1660 Canvas Print

Flint pistol with ivory tray, anonymous, 1655 - 1660 Canvas Print

Originally a wheel lock gun, but transformed into flint; part of a couple. The lock plate in the form of a wheel lock covers the recess where the wheel lock has been seated; the spring of the fire steel of the lock extends into a chiseled leaf. The blued barrel is embossed on the back with flower and foliage ornaments, partly silver recruited against a blued background; marked at the bottom with a circle and two rosettes. The solid ivory tray is simply cut. The gilded yellow copper fitting includes a drawer cap, a loop-shaped trigger bracket and a stock cap engraved all around with flower and leaf vines and driven at the bottom with kwabornaments; the ivory charging stick is equipped with a gold-plated yellow-copper hood.
