Flintlock pistol with ivory fore-end, Jean Louroux, c. 1665 Canvas Print
Part of a couple. The lock plate is engraved with a bird, a leafy vine and signature. The blued barrel features a double row of hollows with a ring, and a tromp ring. The ivory flask is cut into one piece and decorated with, among other things, leafy vines; the large flask bud is cut around like the head of a mustachioed warrior with a Classic helmet with a helmet forest, a dragon's head with leaves on top and monsters connected to each other by means of a rope in their beak. Apart from the iron tractor plate, the fittings are gold-plated yellow copper and include the screw plate of ajour-worked, asymmetrical foliage with two angels on either side of a cartouche engraved with a bust and profile of a man with a moustache; the ivory loading stick is equipped with a hood of gilded metal.
