This range is entirely dedicated to the martial business. It is a good example of a unity in leaf and frame. The leaf has an uncommon, asymmetrical division on the front with a French army camp on the left and a marshal on the right who, together with high, French officers, takes a parade on horseback. In the left cartouche: the soldiers in grey uniforms with tricorns adorned with white cocardes are French troops between 1734 and 1757. From 1762 the cocardes are black. Probably a group of 'anspessades' can be seen here; noblemen, elite soldiers, who served in the infantry:12 on a company of 300 men. In the cartouche on the right: the cavelerists in blue justaucorps (with red sleeve storages) are most likely Gardes du Corps, Maison du Roi. The cavalrymen in red coats are Gendarmes de la Garde or Chevaux armies de la Garde or Mousquetaires. The middle figure - with a marshal's staff in the right hand - wears the blue order ribbon of the 'Ordre du Saint Esprit' over the left shoulder. Louis XV (1710-1715-1774) may be depicted here. Between 1740-8, this king waged the 'War of the Austrian Succession' in connection with the succession of Maria Theresa in the Austrian lands of inheritance. The French, led by Maurice of Saxony, defeated the forbidden English, Dutch and Austrians at the battle of Fontenay (Hainaut) on 11 May 1746 and at Lafeld (July 1747). The troops in the background are French regiments, see the white french royal flags. On one of the lines a soldier with a 'sponton' (officer) or a halberd (ncosofficier) can be seen. Particularly striking is the composite, ornamental border around the performances. In addition to the military attributes that one would expect on such a fan, various vegetables, including radishes, eggplant, pumpkin and beans, are prominently depicted in the middle along with fruits and shells. Finally, the small cascade in the corner stands out. At the back, extra strips of paper were pasted over the ends of the legs, so that the sheet could be painted over the entire width. The frame made up of seed beads is particularly richly embossed with all kinds of military attributes. In the central reserve a burly scene along the lines of the Flemish painter David Teniers the younger (1610-1690) whose work was particularly popular in France in the 18th century and was published many times in graphics. On the frame a trophy with guns and rod bundle
