Folding range with sheet of thin leather on which in watercolor a couple in classic attire is led by Hymen to a wedding altar. The group is surrounded by misicating and sacrificial putti and a man and woman wishing each other, with a laurel branch and a cornucopia with fruits. They probably symbolize prosperity and fertility that accompany the couple. The classicist element is emphasized by the temple on the left, the garden vase on the wall on the right and the vases above the medallions on either side. In these medallions love symbols. On the back of the leaf a branch with flowers. A marriage proposal may be displayed in the frame in the middle of the frame. The outer legs are all about country life. [See Du Mortier, 1992] The frame has 14 non-contiguous legs of ivory with 'métal and quatre couleurs'. The outer legs are openwork so that pink or blue foil is visible. The locking pin in from rhinestone.
