Frieze from the left side of an oak mantelpiece, anonymous, c. 1650 Canvas Print

A frieze from the left side of a mantelpiece. A procession of rising putti starts on the sides, which are closed by hanging festoons. The frieze continues in the main frame and shows in low relief a continuous representation of putti, which rise from both sides with offerings and garlands and while playing musical instruments to an altar in the middle, on which the sacrificial fire is ignited (see BK-BR-308-1). The architraph and cornice are missing.
