Funeral of Johannes Rannink, leader of the axes, the rebellious Orange-minded Amsterdam shipwrights who revolted on the island of Kattenburg against the patriotic city government, and who was killed on May 30, 1787. According to the caption, Rannink's body was hung on the legs on the gallows on June 2, taken away on December 6 and solemnly reburied on December 8.
