Young woman from Lyon in a 'costume à la Piémontoise' : a spafside gown, decorated with wrinkled strips of the same fabric. The hairstyle à la Syrienne is a 'Herisson' with ribbon and string of pearls, crowned with a feather with diamond pin. Fichu around the neck, at the waist chatelaines, one of which with pocket watch. Further accessories: bracelet, bow at the cleavage, shoes with buckles and heels. According to the caption, this fashion originated in 1775 in the theater of Lyon during the stay of Madame Clotilde of France, Princess of Piedmont, to whom the costume owes its name.
