Half Model of a Fireship, anonymous, c. 1790 - c. 1800 Canvas Print
Fully boarded truss model (starboard). The skin has been partially removed to show the device. Three levels: on blocks lies the very low lower deck, on which two fire ovens are placed; half-deck and baking deck, on the baking deck a chimney and roasting spindle; top campanje. A gutter connects both fire ovens and has two branches to openings in the skin just below the lower bark wood. On the lower deck are seven unknown pear-shaped objects. Round stern with a fall gate. The zeeg runs forwards and backwards, two barque wood and one deer wood. Round bilge with flat bottom. This model is practically identical to NG-MC-428.
