Hall of the villa around 1920, 1918 - 1921 Canvas Print
From the stairs a view of the hall where in the middle is a sculpture of a flute-playing putto with deer. At the time the photo was taken, the villa was occupied by Jonkheer B.W.F. van Riemsdijk, general director of the Rijksmuseum and director of the Rijksmuseum van Schilderijen from 1897 to 1921. De Stuers describes this hall as follows. A vestibule gives access to a central staircase, with stone staircase; the walls of the room are erected above the roofs, where a lantern provides skylight. the landings and the vestibule are vaulted and covered with mosaic. Hall is photographed here to the southwest, at the back left is the main entrance, on the right a door with stained glass windows that opens to the garden.
