Hack or state sword by Johannes van Leenen. The hack has a suassa hilt: a precious alliage of ormolu copper, gold and arsenic. The hilt is richly decorated with representations of birds, butterflies, flowers, branches of plum trees and a pagoda. The black surfaces are lacquered. The Dutch blade is etched on both sides with flower vines. The wooden sheath is covered with rye skin and has a lower and upper band of suassa. The hook strap of the topband is missing.
