‘Hansel in the Cellar’, Focko Raerda, 1669 - 1670 Canvas Print
Drinking bowl on base of partially gilded silver; so-called 'Hansje in de kelder'. In the shell, different animals are punched between quabornaments. On top of the bullet in which the Hansje is hidden, there is a knight with a coat of arms with inscription. On the sphere of the cup are engraved wedding symbols that refer to fertility and prosperity. At the foot of the bowl is an alliance coat of arms engraved under a crown: the right male coat of arms consists of three sleeve leaves, the left female coat of arms is intersected, with above a post horn and underneath half a lily and three roses.
