Jabot of machine tulle with a border application side with reclining c-voluts and roses, anonymous, c. 1900 - c. 1930 Canvas Print
Jabot of machine tulle finished on three sides with a strip of natural-coloured Brussels application side: bobbin lace applied to tulle. Trapezoidal model because the rectangular midfield at the top is equipped with sewn-up upright ramps. The application side strip is folded around the corners at the bottom. Lace pattern: Under a scattering pattern of mussels, the repeating pattern along the outer edge of the strip consists of a row of lying c-voluts with a godron border underneath. Between the c-voluts always one rose above which a twig with three oval leaves. Above each c-volute a straight down hanging thin twig with oval leaves and leaves like a bow. The motifs are unloaded in linen stroke with recesses and contour threads. In the roses a needle lace ring, a festooned circle. The lace was probably made around 1900 and it was only used later for finishing the jabot.
